Course Description
Older people are at risk of weight loss due to a variety of factors. It is vital that staff understand how to monitor and manage weight changes by maintaining good nutrition and hydration.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
* Explain what adequate nutrition and hydration for the older person
is and why it is important
* Discuss the factors that may lead to changes in weight and
hydration
* Explain how to assess for adequate nutrition and hydration
* Describe practical tips for staff to support an older person with
their nutrition and hydration
