Fire Safety: A Practical Approach

May 21, 2018 |

Our new course Fire Safety: A Practical Approach is the newest addition to Altura Learning’s Dynamic Suite. This course, which was shot in an aged care facility, takes viewers through an actual fire scenario at the home. Staff in the video reflect on their training to help them to decide what action to take at each point.

Our Subject Matter Expert Brett Stevens also takes staff on a walk through the home, pointing out potential risks how they can be reduced.

This is a highly practical course that takes learners through how a fire starts and spreads, the use of each type of extinguisher and who and how to evacuate.

This course is appropriate for all staff and volunteers in residential care.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify fire dynamics including the start and spreading of fire
  • Reduce the risk of a fire occurring
